Using a per day fee plus harvest fee has proven to be a fair pricing scheme for all parties. You don’t pay full price if you don’t harvest. Our goal is to create repeat business and many of our hunters have made return visits. We’ve had some hunters that first came for one type of animal then later came back to hunt different species.

License Requirements:

Resident of Texas

Currently for Texas residents, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department charges $23 for hunting only. A combination hunting/fishing license (super combo) is $59.

Every hunter (including out-of-state hunters) born on or after Sept. 2, 1971, must successfully complete a Hunter Education Training Course. Children 17 and under are not required to have this if accompanied by an adult.

Non-residents (out of state)

  • General hunting license is $300. This license allows you hunt white-tailed deer, turkey, javelina, and exotics.
  • Spring turkey only license is $120.
  • If you are interested in exotics and some native species, there is a special hunting license for $125. This license does not include white-tailed deer.
  • Texas Parks and Wildlife Department also offers a special 5 day hunting license for $45 if you just want a temporary license for exotic hunting and some native species. This does not include white-tailed deer.
  • For more information call the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department toll-free (800) 792-1112.

What happens if I don't harvest my animal?

High Stakes Ranch has a very high success rate for our hunters but we also understand that this is still hunting. If on the off chance that our hunters leave the ranch without harvesting an animal then the only price they are responsible for would be their day rates.

What happens if I wound my animal(s)?

Even though we make sure all of our hunters rifles and bows are sighted in before the hunt, we also understand bad shots sometimes do happen. If a shot is taken on an animal and it is "questionable" our guides will go searching where the animal was standing. If any blood was drawn the full price of the animal will need to be paid in full. No blood, No payment is needed. But this is 100% up to the guides judgement.

Bow hunting and Rifle hunting?

We are set up to accommodate all hunting types. We have several tree stands for our bow hunters as well as box blinds for our rifle hunters.
